I thought this was normal until the internet made it clear there's actually quite a few of us suffering in round helmets. Sports bike shop directed me to the lidpicker website, and this was one of the helmets identified as long oval in shape so I took a punt.
Wow, what a revelation: so comfy and the visor clarity is exceptional too. The recesses will fit my freecom4+ and as a bonus, my Auritech earplugs no longer get pushed into my ears by the helmet, making my ears comfier too. The styling is also great, and each one is hand finished apparently so they're all unique. The drop down visor is a must for me as it can be a lifesaver especially in winter when the sun is low. All in all, a great helmet, especially for long headed riders! I bought this when I was a novice a couple of years ago, and bought purely on aesthetic. I wasn't wrong on that, its a good looking helmet, particularly if you want to play around with visors. Since passing a flu test and now riding more seriously, this has outperformed all of my other more cosmetic high brand helmets. On motorways, the drop down sun visor is excellent, noise protection and aerodynamics I found to be excellent, and the ease with which visors can be changed is superb. The only slight drawback is that the plastic clips that attach the chin curtain, and ear pads to the bottom of the helmet aren't very good, but. I think the design may have been improved there for the latest models. I was sceptical given the price, however this is a good lid. It's very narrow when fitting it, but fits me fine once on.Everyone's head is a different shape, so it won't be for everyone, but then no helmet will be. It's a fairly unique design, which if I'm being honest, is the reason I considered it initially. Having owned Shoei and AVGs in the past, this doesn't have a discernable difference in the feeling of quality, so I'm one happy camper. Give one a try, you may be pleasently surprised. Measuring your head will not always guarantee a proper fit.
